Island School 2017 - Day 3

We woke up at 6:30, bright and early for a tradition called the Run Swim. The group was pushed physically by a combination of a two mile swim and run. Afterwards we headed to breakfast then packed up and left for a two day camping trip up-island. We piled into the van and made a pit stop at the Blue Hole in Rock Sound where the group went snorkeling. We continued on the road trip making a pit stop for lunch at the North Side Restaurant owned and run by Rose. We had a delicious lunch of barbecue ribs and chicken along with Bahamian rice and cole slaw. We continued further up island making a stop at the Hatchet Bay Caves where we were submerged in darkness and traveled through waist deep water. We then stopped for a much needed ice cream break and some souvenir shopping before heading to our camp site where we would be spending the night. We set up our tents and built a fire pit in order to cook our stir fry for dinner. Afterwards we roasted some marshmallows and headed to bed for an early start the next morning.
