To our family and friends,
After a shifty and delayed ride over Nassau, Pineapple Air landed us safely on the runway of the Rock Sound airport in Eleuthera. Sunday's island school adventure kicked off at 6:30am with a swim test and a thrilling snorkeling introduction followed by a cereal breakfast bar. After a tour of campus, we engaged in a sustainability discussion before lunch. Then, we headed out on a snorkeling exploration on a different part of the island. In the words of Simon Boisvert '17, snorkeling was "a lot of fun" and "a good bonding experience" according to Terry Cox. With our GoPros in hand, we explored the breathtaking views of the coral reefs and all the creatures that inhabited them. On our ride back from the cove, we stopped to admire some nurse sharks in the local marina. The terrified Andrew Tartaro '17 described them as "something that could eat me if it desired", although our leader Lydia described them as "really really chill". We had a little downtime following this adventure that Gideon Cooper '17 describes as, "a good time skippin stones with the fellas". During our exploration time (or free time) many of us, exhausted from the day's activities,  either napped or played cards in the common room. We finished the day with a mac and cheese dinner and a very competitive fish ID game (of course team 4 with Mrs Dilley took the W). Needless to say, we are ready for bed.
Love your sunburnt island bloggers,
Andrew Tartaro and Maddi Devey
(there were some videos that we wanted to load - but the island internet had other plans)
